Cristiano Ronaldo Poised to Extend Stay at Al Nassr

The Spanish daily Marca reports that Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is close to signing a new contract with Al Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team.
Cristiano Ronaldo is therefore anticipated to stay in Saudi Arabia past this summer and during the upcoming FIFA World Cup in 2026.
Ronaldo will be bound by the new, lucrative deal to Al Nassr for at least two years, with the option of a third year depending on his performance and preferences at that period.
This extension is especially noteworthy because it perfectly fits Ronaldo’s desire to play for Portugal in the World Cup, which will be held in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
This deal’s negotiations have been going on for a few months. Although there were initial hopes for a speedy conclusion in January, the agreement’s complexity has caused a delay in the official announcement.

The bargaining process is made more complex by the fact that this deal includes Ronaldo’s larger commercial, ambassadorial, and developmental responsibilities, in contrast to traditional sports contracts that usually only concentrate on player performance.
It should be noted that Ronaldo’s new deal, which may be worth an incredible €200 million a year, would cement his place among the highest-paid athletes in the world and help raise awareness of Saudi football internationally.
