Tinubu Appoints Only Familiar Faces or Members of his tribe – El-Rufai Alleges

According to Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, President Bola Tinubu exclusively appoints members of his tribe or people he knows.
He claims that since Tinubu came to power, Nigeria has been regressing.
El-Rufai charged that Tinubu’s administration had betrayed the core principles of the All Progressives Congress, or APC, and was incompetent and nepotistic.
In a Katsina interview with Deutsche Welle Hausa, he expressed his reluctance. According to him, Nigeria’s current state of government, economy, and insecurity is worse than it was during earlier administrations.
“The nation has started to regress ever since Tinubu took office as president of Nigeria.” Ethnic profiling is growing, the economy is contracting, wealthy people are becoming impoverished, and insecurity has escalated.
“Whoever he appoints must be a member of his tribe or someone he knows.
Nigerians are not stupid, even if they choose to ignore that. You are from Katsina, therefore they won’t mention that your name is this,” he added.
Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, has explained why the coalition, alliance, and merger proposal spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was rejected, claiming that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the largest opposition party, did not acknowledge the talks.
Governor Makinde clarified in a Tuesday interview with Channels Television that the party’s governing bodies should be properly consulted before making such important political agreements.
According to Makinde, “we didn’t just wake up and say, ‘I’m xyz in the party.’ Just drag the party into any arrangements when the party organs don’t know what you’re doing.”

“They don’t know what this coalition is about. Additionally, they don’t know if this is personal or if you are acting in the party’s and Nigerians’ best interests. Those are important.
His remarks followed Atiku’s announcement on March 20 at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja that he, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, and Peter Obi (represented by Tanko Yunusa) had formed a coalition to run against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
Makinde restated the PDP Governors’ Forum’s stance, which separated from the coalition.
