Current Prices of Dangote, BUA, Other Cement Brands This Week

As of February 2025, a number of economic factors, such as market dynamics, fuel subsidy elimination, and currency devaluation, have caused changes in Nigeria’s cement pricing.
Both consumers and the construction sector nationwide have been greatly influenced by these changes.
Cement Dangote
Depending on the area, a 50kg bag of Dangote Cement, a well-known brand in Nigeria, can cost anywhere from ₦9,000 to ₦9,500. The price is roughly ₦9,600 per bag in Lagos and ₦9,400 per bag in Abuja.
Cement BUA
Price changes have also been made at BUA Cement. In late 2023, the company’s first goal was to lower prices to ₦3,500 per bag.
However, wider economic issues and price inflation by middlemen weakened this attempt. The price of a 50kg bag of BUA Cement is presently between ₦8,000 and ₦8,500, with Abuja charging ₦8,300 and Lagos ₦8,000.
Lafarge Cement
The cost of Lafarge Cement’s products varies:
Each bag of Lafarge Classic Cement costs about ₦9,500.
Each bag of Elephant Supaset Portland Limestone Cement costs about ₦10,000.

Factors Affecting the Cost of Cement
The price of cement in Nigeria is now determined by a number of factors:
Economic Policies: Cement prices have gone up as a result of greater production and transportation expenses brought on by the devaluation of the Naira and the elimination of fuel subsidies.
Supply Chain Dynamics: Manufacturers’ attempts to make cement inexpensive have been thwarted by middlemen and dealers who have been known to increase costs.
Regional Variations: Prices vary by location due to factors including transportation costs and proximity to manufacturing facilities.
