Datti Baba-Ahmed: Obi Can Be Labour Party’s 2027 Presidential Candidate, With or Without Me

Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate in the general elections of 2023, asserts that Peter Obi is free to represent the party in the 2027 presidential election, whether or not he runs alongside him.
This assertion was made by Baba-Ahmed on Wednesday during his guest appearance on Channels Television’s “The Morning Brief.”
“I have a lot of regard for two important people, one of which is Peter Obi. I kindly greet him.
“With or without me, he is welcome to continue to come, keep the Labour Party ticket, and run in 2027.” Additionally, Baba-Ahmed stated that the ADC is free to choose a candidate from the South.

Nigeria needed a leader who would bring about government, not catastrophe, he said.
Baba-Ahmed added that Obi’s affiliation with the coalition on the African Democratic Congress platform was a developing circumstance rather than an act of anti-party sentiment.
“There is nothing anti-party about this. It’s a developing scenario. When political parties, interest groups, and individuals band together, it’s called a coalition. It is a developing situation.
I went to meetings of the coalition. Baba-Ahmed went on, “Peter Obi is welcome to keep going to those coalition meetings.”
Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, Baba-Ahmed responded to the zoning debate by stating that he believed the South should produce the president.
