El-Rufai: Nigeria Under Attack by Network of Urban Bandits

Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, has alleged that a group of urban criminals has set out to destroy Nigeria.
He made this statement during an interview with Arise News on Monday evening. El-Rufai believes the anti-Tinubu coalition is focused on a single goal and is encouraged by the leadership’s approach.

According to the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, no coalition leaders are currently discussing his aspirations.

He proceeded: “Well, I’m sure they would [talk about aspiration later] I mean, we are politicians, we are students of power.” So, certainly, they will do that, but no one is talking about ‘I want to be president or, you know, leave this for me’ and so on.

Everybody says, “We have a problem.” A group of urban criminals has set their sights on destroying this country. Let’s get together, send them home, and get this country back on track.

“The goal is to fix the country. Nobody is discussing his ambition, which has been pretty good so far. And I’m encouraged.

El-Rufai, one of the primary leaders who supported and worked for Tinubu’s election as president in 2023, has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Tin
