Enugu Community in Shock as Youths Uncover Kidnapping and Ritual Acts

On Tuesday, local youths accused a prominent community member, Ichie Millions (also known as Ezeani), of using his expansive compound for illegal activities, including kidnapping and rituals, causing chaos in the otherwise peaceful Umumba Ndiagu community in Ezeagu Local Government Area, Enugu State.
According to reports, Ezeani, who had posed as a businessman, was actually a native physician who had a sinister secret.
The accusations stated that Ezeani, a self-described businessman, was abducting people from his facility. The local doctor was accused of ritually burying people alive in soak-away holes, including children and pregnant women.

The young people were astounded by what they discovered at Ezeani’s compound when they began their quest for the truth. The neighborhood was completely taken aback when bodies were found buried in soak-away holes.
The angry youngsters were shown looting Ezeani’s compound, including what looked to be his shrine, in a social media video that went viral. As the community learned the horrific facts of his crimes, the situation became more intense.

In a video that went viral, one of the young victims who barely avoided Ezeani’s grasp described her terrifying ordeal. “My father and I went to get firewood so we could fry our garri,” she recalled. My dad offered his cutlass to his troops when they begged for it. Abruptly, they seized me and held me in a trench they had excavated. I began to cry, and happily, the Neighborhood Watch officers heard me and came to my aid.

A neighborhood member is heard discussing the discovery in another startling video, stating, “We have caught the killers.” They murder people. Inside are the dead bodies of people. Many people have been killed by them. They wanted to utilize the 13-year-old child we recently rescued for ritual purposes.

The video also revealed that the young people had captured a suspect posing as a security guard that Ezeani had employed to secure his compound.

The enraged youngsters stripped this individual, who was recognized in the video, nude, bound him, and abandoned him in the complex. The individual acknowledged visiting Ezeani’s home for ceremonial purposes, but he denied any role in the murders.

When the irate teenagers questioned the suspect, who called Ezeani “Daddy Ezeani,” he said, “I came here as a businessman. There was still a water sacrifice to be made for me after I had completed several other sacrifices. I was awaiting the completion of all tasks for me. There are tasks that need to be completed, but I’m not sure how he accomplished them. However, in this case, they typically send the person on an errand as a novice. Daddy Ezeani, the facility’s owner, requested me to keep this spot safe and deter visitors.

Ezeani was allegedly on the run and his whereabouts were unknown at the time of the finding. But according to reports, the youngsters nabbed a few of his wives, and the neighborhood retaliated by burning his house and cars.

Police Start a Manhunt for a Native Doctor Who Is Running Away

According to reports, Bitrus Giwa, the police commissioner, has initiated a manhunt for the fugitive native physician.

“Police operatives of the Enugu State Command, attached to the Umumba Division, in collaboration with Neighbourhood Watch personnel and vigilant community members, successfully rescued a 13-year-old girl (name withheld), allegedly kidnapped for ritual murder, at Umuojor village in Ishiagu community of Ezeagu Local Government Area,” the police said in a statement released by the command’s spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe.

Three male suspects in the crime were also apprehended as a result of the operation: Uche Kingsley Agumba, 33; Ilo Nweze Onyedikachi, 36; and Ejike Odinwankpa, 38. The primary suspect, Levi Onyeka Obu, a well-known local doctor and community leader known by the nicknames “Ezeani” and “E-Dey-Play-E-Dey-Show,” escaped the scene and is still at large.

Two decaying bodies, one male and one female, were found during the rescue in a concrete-sealed hole within an incomplete building that belonged to the escaping prime suspect and was used for horrible criminal operations as well as a shrine.

The rescued youngster was on the verge of experiencing the same fate prior to the prompt intervention, according to investigations that show the deceased victims were recently slain and ritually buried in the pit by the perpetrators.

The structures utilized for the criminal operation and owned by the fugitive chief suspect have been razed by the Enugu State Government in accordance with its laws.

The actions of the police officers, neighborhood security organizations, and community people, whose cooperation made the operation successful, have been praised by the Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, who visited the crime scene right away.

With a strong determination to see that justice is done, “he has also instructed the Command’s Tactical Squads, as well as Investigation and Intelligence Units, to step up efforts in locating the fugitive suspect and other accomplices still at large.”
