Natasha Commits to Helping NIDCOM Fulfill Its Mandate

According to Natasha Akpoti, the recently appointed chairman of the Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGOs, her committee will assist Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) in fulfilling its purpose.
According to reports, Natasha brought this up when Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman and CEO of NiDCOM, led a delegation to inform the Senator on the Commission’s operations and difficulties.
In a statement released Thursday in Abuja by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols (NIDCOM), Natasha gave the Commission’s Management the assurance that her Committee would assist NiDCOM in three crucial areas: supplying better office space, ensuring that the welfare of Nigerians residing overseas is taken care of, and appropriately funding its budget allocation.
Speaking as well, Dabiri-Erewa gave the Committee Chairman an update on the Commission’s operations since its founding, guaranteeing interaction with Nigerians overseas and their overall well-being.

The head of NIDCOM asked for assistance in changing the Commission’s Act and finding a suitable Diaspora Plaza to house the Commission.
Dabiri-Erewa thanked Sen. Victor Ume, the previous Chairman of the Committee, for his support and direction over the 19-month relationship with the Committee and expressed his pleasure in working with the new Chairman.
She also took use of the occasion to hand out copies of the National Diaspora Policy, publications of the Commission’s earlier initiatives, and the NIDCOM events schedule for 2025.
In order to further the welfare of Nigerians worldwide, she continued, “NiDCOM looks forward to working closely with the Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGOs.”
