FG Set to Auction Emefiele’s Confiscated Properties – Dangiwa

According to Ahmed Dangiwa, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, the federal government would sell 753 homes that were taken from Godwim Emefiele.
According to reports, the mansions that were taken from Emefiele, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), were turned over to the federal government by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday.
The Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) Cadastral Zone is home to the 753 duplexes and other flats that were taken from Emefiele.
Dangiwa said in a statement Tuesday night that a transparent and accountable process will be used to finish the recovered land and make it accessible to the Nigerian public.

The Minister promised that a fair and open process would be used for the sales.
It is an important turning point in the government’s efforts to make sure that recovered assets are turned into useful infrastructure that directly helps Nigerians, he said. In order to guarantee safety and appropriateness for occupancy, we will next carry out a thorough integrity and structural assessment of all buildings and related infrastructure. To make the estate completely operational, we will also finish all unfinished infrastructure, such as roads, drainage systems, and other necessary facilities.
A standardized framework for dwelling design will also be created in order to guarantee architectural consistency and offer direction to potential allottees.
Ultimately, the dwelling units will be put up for sale through an open and competitive process that is run through the Renewed Hope Portal and extensively publicized.
“We will collaborate with the EFCC to demonstrate that combating corruption can yield tangible results—converting looted assets into livable homes for Nigerians.”
