Fire Outbreak Destroys Shops in Onitsha Main Market

In Nigeria’s Anambra State, portions of the Onitsha Main Market have been destroyed by a fire outbreak.
A nearby building has been affected by the fire, which apparently began at one of the buildings at around 6:20 am.
At the time of this report, the cause of the fire was still unknown.
Residents, onlookers, and firefighter personnel were observed on the ground, attempting to recover some items and properties from the structure.
The Anambra State Fire Service’s Head of the Media and Publicity Unit, Chukwudi Chiketa, acknowledged the incident in a brief statement on Friday.

Chiketa asked the public and locals to maintain their composure while firemen try to put out the fire.
The Ifejika Street fire, which is located near Sokoto Road in Onitsha, is now being responded to by the Nambra State Fire Service.
“At 0620 a.m. today, our firefighters responded to the distress call and deployed right away.”
He also asked everyone to maintain their composure because everything is under control.
