Galatasaray Frustrated by Osimhen Delay as Chelsea Ends Maignan Pursuit

Abdullah Kavukcu, the vice president of Galatasaray, has voiced his displeasure with Victor Osimhen’s lack of commitment to a long-term transfer to the Turkish champions.
Because of his uncertainty, Kavukcu also cautioned Osimhen that the club could soon have to look into other choices.
While on loan at Galatasaray, the Nigerian striker had an incredible 2024–2025 season, helping Okan Buruk’s team win the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup with 37 goals and eight assists in 41 games.

Galatasaray is apparently pushing for his signature and has put forth a higher-than-average offer than most European clubs.

Osimhen, who is now on vacation in Nigeria, has postponed deciding on his future even though he has rejected offers from Al-Hilal, a Saudi company.
Kavukcu remarked, “He’s keeping us waiting, but time is running out.” “We’ve given him numbers that are higher than what’s being suggested in Europe.”

As of right now, Chelsea has four goalkeepers: Mike Penders, Djordje Petrovic, Filip Jorgensen, and Robert Sanchez. The club has decided that at least two of these players will leave this summer.

To balance the roster and offer playing time elsewhere, one is anticipated to go on loan to Strasbourg, a Ligue 1 team, while the other will be sold.

Earlier in the window, Chelsea was offered Maignan, but the club left the talks without submitting a formal proposal. There is currently little likelihood that manager Enzo Maresca will acquire a new goalkeeper this summer.
