Gov Yusuf Directs Aides to Declare Their Assets

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has compelled all political appointees to declare their assets.
According to reports, this command was given at a meeting with heads of government agencies and special advisers at Government House in Kano during Iftar, the celebration of the breaking of the fast during Ramadan.
Between 60 and 70 percent of the appointments have not yet complied with the Code of Conduct rules, the governor observed.

To make sure they were in accordance with the law, he advised them to quickly get, complete, and submit the necessary forms.
Additionally, Yusuf stressed to the special advisers the importance of reporting on governance challenges and offering advice.

He urged them to actively participate in keeping an eye on government operations and to share their opinions, whether positive or negative.

Additionally, Yusuf revealed that 13 Hajj seats have been granted to the Heads of Government Agencies.

On behalf of the appointments, Dr. Rahila Mukhtar, Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (KCHIMA), responded by thanking the governor for his support.

Malam Umar Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government, reminded the appointees of their pledge to carry out their responsibilities fairly.

Ibrahim asked them to be committed to Yusuf’s vision and goal, emphasizing change and raising the standard of living for the populace.
