Gun Video Controversy: Pastor Adefarasin Runs to Police

In response to a widely shared video that purportedly showed him brandishing a gun during a confrontation with a motorist in Lagos, Paul Adefarasin, the senior pastor of House on the Rock Church, has shown up at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja.
Our journalist received a WhatsApp message from CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s spokesperson, confirming the development.
In the video, which went viral last week, Pastor Adefarasin was seen holding a metal object and conversing with a bystander who was filming the event.

Addressing his church, Pastor Adefarasin clarified the situation in a statement posted on his official social media accounts.
He insisted the thing was not a weapon and emphasized that he did not point or threaten anyone, calling the public’s interpretation of the footage a misunderstanding.
CSP Hundeyin confirmed that he will be attending the Command, saying, “No one is above the law.” After turning himself in, Pastor Paul Adefarasin is now being questioned by investigators at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
He went on to say that inquiries into the incident have begun, especially in view of the footage that shows the pastor driving an unlicensed car while brandishing what looks to be a pistol.
“The investigation’s conclusion will be made public,” Hundeyin declared.
