Armed men stormed the Elyon Paradise Ministry Church in Asagba Ogwashi, Delta State, during a Friday night vigil, capturing six congregants and shooting a pastor.
Witnesses stated that the assailants took six members of the congregation to an unidentified place after shooting the pastor, Apostle Divine Omodia, and chopping off two of his fingers.

Doctors are fighting to preserve the pastor’s life after he was taken to the hospital. The kidnappers have not called anyone for ransom since the attack.
According to a source, “since the incident, the kidnappers have not called to demand a ransom for the release of the abducted victims as of today (Sunday).”
SP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the tragedy and stated that a rescue team is currently combing the nearby jungle for the victims.
