IBB Admitted His Sins but Didn’t Seek Nigerians’ Forgiveness – Cleric

Former Head of State General Ibrahim Babangida’s admissions have been characterized as tardy by Adewale Giwa, Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry.

Giwa claimed that although Babangida had admitted his transgressions against the Nigerian people and the late Moshood Abiola, the victor of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, he had neglected to seek the forgiveness of the populace.
This was stated by the cleric on an Adaba FM broadcast in Akure, Ondo State.

Additionally, he pointed out that Babangida’s admission comes at a time when Abiola, the main recipient of the truth, is no longer able to restore his mandate.

“IBB only admitted his sin, but he never asked Nigerians for forgiveness,” Giwa stated. The majority of our political leaders regrettably fail to consider the legacy they leave behind.
As it stands, they only consider how to further or fulfill their interests, forgetting that you came into this world with nothing and will depart with nothing. On Judgment Day, the Lord will require you to present a record of your stewardship, Giwa stated.

The preacher went on to say that God detests injustice and persecution and that everyone, including Nigerian politicians, will be judged by history in accordance with this.

Additionally, he cautioned that a country that loses sight of its past is doomed to the future.
“IBB’s confession is being delayed. After 31 years, he said, “I wonder what could have kept him from publicly acknowledging that MKO did, in fact, win the 1993 election.”
