igeria Deserves Better, APC Has Failed to Inspire – Amaechi

According to former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, he was forced to resign the All Progressives Congress (APC) because of the party’s failure to give Nigerians hope for a better future.
Amaechi had previously declared that he was no longer a member of the ruling party, claiming that the APC was no longer in existence.
In his July 1, 2025, letter of resignation to the APC chairman in Ward 8, Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State, the former governor characterized the APC as a party of failure, suffering, and agony that lacks compassion for the general public.

Amaechi claims that his motivation for leaving the party is also rooted in his resolve to band together with other patriotic Nigerians “to rescue our dear nation from the fangs of failure, pain and anguish which the All Progressives Congress now symbolizes.”

Following extensive deliberations, he continued, “I am certain that now is the right time to retire because the party has strayed from the high ideals that led to its formation and is therefore no longer able to inspire hopes for a better future in Nigeria.” Thus, I have decided to go on a new adventure for Nigeria’s emancipation by joining forces with well-meaning compatriots.

A coalition of opposition leaders led by Amaechi was established in 2027 with the goal of overthrowing President Bola Tinubu’s current administration.
