Ijoba Lande Accuses Funke Akindele of Being Unapproachable Over N90,000 Payment After One Month’s Work

After working on Funke Akindele’s movie set for a month, Nigerian comedian and actor Ijoba Lande has criticized his senior colleague for overpaying him ₦90,000.
In a video that has gone viral, Lande reportedly described his encounter with Funke, claiming that the actress was never approachable and that he was unable to snap a photo with her when they were filming the movie.
Lande clarified that after liking one of his videos on social media, Funke Akindele DM’d him.
According to the skitmaker, he was thrilled to see Funke’s message and decided not to charge her because he thought it would be the major boost his career required.
Lande claimed that the incident had taught him a valuable lesson and that he would charge anyone—including Michael Jackson—for services.
Additionally, he counseled up-and-coming artists in the entertainment sector to charge their fees without embarrassment or regard for others as gods.
He stated, “I was married and living in Ayobo when I went to work for Funke Akindele. I worked for her at Amen Estate for a whole month.” I would immediately head home if I noticed that we didn’t have much work left. I swear to God that after a month of working with Funke Akindele, she did not even offer me N150,000. That industry, is it? I say this for all of you who are coming up and anyone who tries to take advantage of you: if deity has already helped you become famous, don’t consider anyone to be a deity.

“You you aware of what they did to me back then? She messaged me after I made a video that she loved, and I don’t message people because I like this. Additionally, Funke Akindele has a soft voice and would speak to you politely. She was never friendly, and during the entire time I worked for her, we never took a single photo. To prevent being insulted, I swear to God that I detest pleading with people to let me take their picture. I am not photogenic, so even if Wizkid or Davido came here, I will just say hello. I was thrilled to learn that I would be working for Funke Akindele at the moment since it would provide me a significant platform.
You won’t believe it if I tell you how that work turned out for me. Wendy came to meet me when they presented the form, and when Funke Akindele expressed interest in working with me, I thought I couldn’t bill someone like her. Even if Michael Jackson wants to take advantage of me, I will let him know just how much I want to get if it’s now. He will pay if he truly needs me. They informed me that I would be receiving $90,000 per month once I was already there. They brought me the form, which I carefully read because I am not illiterate, but I assumed it was all a joke, and a month later I had 90,000.
