Iyabo Ojo Opens Up: My Marriage Didn’t Work, But Priscilla Deserves a Better Future
Iyabo Ojo, a Nollywood actress and businessman, has stated that she has paid the price for her daughter’s future happiness and has very strong emotional confidence in her daughter Priscilla Ojo’s marriage.
Speaking on Monday, July 28, at Priscilla’s baby shower in Canada, Iyabo said she had gone through enough hardship and sacrifice to make sure her daughter wouldn’t experience the same marriage problems and failures as she did.
“Priscilla, you will succeed in marriage. It is God’s will that you and your spouse will grow old together. The guests cheered and wept as she continued, “If mine didn’t work, yours will, because I paid that sacrifice for yours to work.”
She encouraged other mothers to stand by their children no matter what, despite the heavy scrutiny, and not let the opinions of others influence them.

“In whatever circumstance, I will never deny my children their blessings. It is my responsibility to bear.
Iyabo added that she has personally struggled with spiritual and generational issues, saying:
“There are ancestral curses; you have to stop them in order to break them.”
Shortly after Priscilla’s spectacular wedding went viral online with recordings of exorbitant expenditures, including US dollars and Naira being showered on the couple, her heartfelt homage was posted.
Iyabo was invited to be questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after the extravagant ceremony attracted public criticism.
The EFCC presented her with video footage from the wedding and forced her to write a statement before she was released, she subsequently confirmed.
Notwithstanding the controversy, Iyabo Ojo says she is proud of her daughter’s journey and is steadfast in her belief that Priscilla’s marriage will endure, unlike her own, which ended badly.
