Just In: Police IG Lands in Benue, Directs More Tactical Teams to the State

In response to the recent attack on the Yelewata community in Guma local government by suspected herdsmen, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun arrived in Benue State on Monday.
According to Naija News, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) announced this in a post on 𝕏.
Additional tactical team deployment to the North-Central state was ordered by the IGP.
Following President Bola Tinubu’s order, additional security chiefs have arrived in Benue State in an effort to curb the state’s rampant insecurity.

Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, announced this development in a statement on Sunday.
Onanuga stated that in order to establish enduring peace and security in Benue State, the President instructed the security chiefs to carry out his previous mandate.
According to reports, President Tinubu extended his directive following the most recent round of retaliatory attacks that claimed the lives of roughly 200 individuals.
