Laughable to Say Nigeria Is Progressing – Ologbondiyan Criticizes Tinubu Govt

According to Kola Ologbondiyan, a former national publicity secretary for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), assertions of progress under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are absurd.
In response to recent defections to the APC, he made this statement on Wednesday during an appearance on Channels Television.
“The APC has created a politically divisive environment, especially under the current administration,” Ologbondiyan continued.
It is regrettable, he remarked, that anyone would look at Nigeria today and claim that progressive governance exists; it is absurd. The events in Edo are dramcomical.
“A troubling degree of political fluidity and division has been displayed by the Tinubu administration. Parties today boldly assert their exclusive control over political space in our very polarizing political system, which begs the question of what would happen if the opposition started.

The former spokesperson emphasized the rising dissatisfaction in the country, stating that many Nigerians are only putting up with the status quo while anticipating the next election.
Nigerians are simply anticipating 2027, if you measure the country’s mood. The president has even been referred to as an OTP (one-term president) by others. We have to make sure that the 2027 elections are devoid of errors, which doesn’t affect the choice of president,” he continued.
He went on to say that the PDP cannot advance under the current acting chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, and that he is deeply concerned about the internal situation of his party.
“I won’t sugarcoat the fact that the PDP is experiencing instability. The party would fail as long as Ambassador Umar Damagum serves as acting chairman, he said.
