Okonkwo: PDP Is a Servant of Servants, LP Under Abure Is APC’s Housemaid

Kenneth Okonkwo, a former Labour Party chieftain, has stated that President Bola Tinubu can only be overthrown in 2027 by a coalition.
According to reports, Okonkwo stated that the incumbent All Progressives Congress would not be overthrown by the main opposition parties, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), in 2027.
The Nollywood icon referred to LP under Julius Abure as the APC’s housemaid and PDP as the APC’s servant of servants in an interview with Arise News on Monday.

“They cannot win a Tinubu if they do not unite. Therefore, don’t hold the ruling party responsible if they are unable to cooperate. Under Abure, LP serves as the APC’s housemaid, while PDP is now a servant of servants.

Therefore, if the APC used inducement to crush the opposition, you wouldn’t blame them. However, you would accuse the APC of failing to provide Nigerians with effective governance,” he said.
The former head of the APC emphasized that President Tinubu can only be overthrown by a coalition. Okonkwo contended that Tinubu shouldn’t be permitted to serve a second term because his administration was “incomparably bad.”

The Nollywood icon recommended holding an open primary election once the coalition was constituted. He asserts that the winner of the primary, whether from the North or the South, must consent to serve Tinubu for just four years.

Since we are now halfway through the game, things are different in 2027. The deal would still be broken if you said you wanted to bring in a Southerner who wasn’t Tinubu and the North said he would be there for eight years. Would you say that, given Tinubu’s current unimaginably terrible behavior, we would continue to descend into poverty and misery for another four years, as per the World Bank report? Would you say that it wouldn’t be unfair if a Northerner started the rule in the middle of the game and he spent eight years? It will.

“Allow a North-South coalition to hold an open primary election; whoever wins will serve for four years.” A Southerner must consent to serve for four years in order to finish Tinubu’s government if he wins. After four years, if a Northerner prevails, it goes back to the South. The only way we can stop this government, which has gotten so horrible, is that way,” he said.
