Messi, Real Madrid React as Barcelona Clinch 2024/2025 La Liga Title

Following FC Barcelona’s victory as the 2024–2025 Spanish La Liga winners, former captain Lionel Messi has celebrated his former team.
Lionel Messi, who is currently at Inter Miami, posted a happy photo from Barcelona’s official account on Instagram to join in on the celebration of the team’s win. He said, “Congratulations.”
When Messi left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, it signaled the end of an era for the player and the team, which made his gesture of support all the more meaningful.
Remember how FC Barcelona won the La Liga championship Thursday night, May 15, for the 28th time in the club’s illustrious history?
By defeating their local rivals, Espanyol, 2-0 on matchday 36 of the Spanish top flight league, they accomplished this incredible milestone.
Barcelona won thanks to goals from the gifted young team Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal, solidifying their place atop the table.
The fact that Barcelona has now won a domestic treble this season makes this title victory much more significant.
As evidence of their supremacy in domestic competitions, the Catalan team has won the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup in addition to La Liga.
In the UEFA Champions League, they were defeated by Inter Milan early in the competition, which left them disappointed.
Real Madrid, Barcelona’s longtime adversaries, congratulated the Catalan team after the close of the match in a show of good sportsmanship.
“Congratulations to @FCBarcelona on their 2024–2025 La Liga title,” was the first post from the official Real Madrid Twitter account acknowledging the move.
With just two games left, Barcelona has a dominating seven-point lead in the league standings, making it impossible for Real Madrid to bridge the gap.

The team led by Hansi Flick has cemented their supremacy in the Spanish football scene by winning both the La Liga title and the domestic treble final.
It’s interesting to note that if Real Madrid hadn’t pulled off a last-minute victory over Mallorca, Barcelona may have won the championship even earlier, on Wednesday.
The Catalans had also previously defeated Carlo Ancelotti’s team in the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, making the rivalry between Spain’s most illustrious teams even more intense.
As the season comes to an end, both teams take stock of their experiences; Barcelona celebrates a successful comeback to form, while Real Madrid recognizes their rival’s accomplishments in the face of an unparalleled level of competition.
