Mikel Arteta Addresses Allegations Against Thomas Partey

Regarding the recent issue involving former midfielder Thomas Partey, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has stated that the club acted appropriately.
It should be noted that Thomas Partey left Arsenal on June 30, 2025, after his contract with the team expired.
The 32-year-old Ghanaian international is reportedly facing many charges of rape and sexual assault, according to claims that surfaced approximately four days following his formal departure from the Gunners.

In connection with events involving three distinct women in 2021 and 2022, Partey is accused of five charges of rape and one act of sexual assault, according to the report. This was disclosed on July 4 in a statement issued by the Metropolitan Police.

Ahead of Arsenal’s preseason match against AC Milan in Singapore, Arteta was questioned if he thought the team handled the matter well during Thomas Partey’s playing days.

Arteta retorted, “The club’s statement was very clear.” “I am unable to comment on any of that because there are many complex legal issues.”

When asked if he was completely confident in Arsenal’s internal processes, Arteta replied, “100%, yes.”

There are several complainants and a convoluted timetable in the charges. One woman made the accusations for two of the rape charges, while three more are related to another. A third woman is linked to the one sexual assault count.

Partey “welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name” and has refuted all of the accusations through his legal team.

Reports state that following the initial rape complaint, authorities started looking into the matter in February 2022.

Partey, who paid £45 million to join Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020, was a key member of the team’s midfield the previous campaign. He scored four goals in 35 Premier League appearances.

Last season, Partey played in 12 Champions League games as the Gunners advanced to the semi-finals before losing to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain.

On August 5, the Ghanaian international is expected to appear in Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

Arsenal’s preseason schedule includes matches against Tottenham Hotspur at 12:30 p.m. on July 31, Newcastle United on Sunday, July 27, and Inter Milan on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
