NASS Committee Concludes Work on Crucial Tax Reform Bills

The National Assembly’s joint conference committee, which was established to examine and coordinate the tax reform bills, has effectively finished its task.
The honorable James Faleke, the chairman of the House Committee on Finance, announced this in a statement on Saturday.
According to him, the committee members toiled to finish the job from Thursday evening through Friday and into the early hours of Saturday.
The Tax Reform Bills are now prepared for submission to the House and Senate for final passage, Faleke said.
According to the announcement, “The House and Senate-established Conference Committee on the Tax Reform Bills has successfully completed its work.”
I’m happy to say that the Bills are now prepared for presentation to the House and the Senate for final passage following a rigorous deliberation that lasted through Thursday night, Friday, and into the early hours of Saturday.
“I want to express my gratitude to the Senate Conference Committee, which is skillfully headed by the distinguished senator Sani Musa, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, as well as to all of the committee members. My sincere appreciation also goes out to my fellow members of the House Conference Committee, which I had the privilege of chairing, for their steadfast dedication to the Nigerian people.

It was remembered that President Bola Tinubu had sent measures to the Senate and House of Representatives, which had each passed them separately. The President will be asked to sign the harmonized bills when they have been approved by the legislature.
