Despite Nigerian Government Ban, Eedris Abdulkareem Launches ‘Tell Your Papa’ Challenge Online

The singer Eedris Abdulkareem has started a social media challenge called “Tell Your Papa” in response to the federal government’s prohibition.
According to reports, all radio and television stations in Nigeria were prohibited from playing the singer’s recently released anti-Tinubu song, “Tell Your Papa.”
In a memo signed by Susan Obi, the Coordinating Director of Broadcast Monitoring for the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), the music was labeled as “inappropriate and offensive.”

Abdulkareem responded to the ban on Instagram, calling the government’s actions a “suppression of criticism and an attempt to silence the truth.”
It’s time to speak truth to power, the singer said in a recent development on Sunday when he posted the “Tell Your Papa” challenge on his Instagram page.
He shared the challenge post and said, “Silence is the greatest thing that can bolster authority.” There are appropriate times to talk and quiet down. This is the moment to stand up and be heard.
