Nigerian Footballers Deliver Strong Performances as European Campaigns End

With impressive performances throughout the continent in the season’s last games, Nigerian football players concluded their 2024–2025 European campaign.
Even though Fulham lost to Manchester City 2-0, Alex Iwobi made a lasting impression at Craven Cottage and cemented his place in Premier League history.
After doing so twice in the 2022–2023 season, Iwobi became the first Nigerian football player to appear in all 38 Premier League games.
The Nigerian international entered the game in the 61st minute, recorded a remarkable 92% pass accuracy rate, and made defensive contributions with a tackle and an interception.
Paul Onuachu had a quiet game for Southampton against Arsenal at the Emirates, where they lost 2-1. The tall striker, who came off the bench, found it difficult to contribute as the Saints lost their final game of the season.
However, despite Nottingham Forest’s tight 1-0 loss to Chelsea, Ola Aina put up a more engaged performance.
The full-back played more than 80 minutes, making several crosses and clearances in addition to providing one significant opportunity.
While injured teammate Taiwo Awoniyi was seen supporting the squad from the sidelines, his energetic effort capped a season of development.
La Liga: Spain’s Ejuke and Uche Deliver
Chidera Ejuke made a brief appearance for Sevilla in their 4–2 defeat to Villarreal in Spain. The winger was effective with his passes and made a crucial pass in a clean cameo, even if he only played three minutes.
Christantus Uche was a brilliant player for Getafe, helping to set up the first goal in their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Celta Vigo.
The midfielder played 83 minutes and was active all over the field with tackles, duels, and transitions. He contributed 10 goals in his first La Liga season.

Chukwueze Finishes the Season with Flair in Serie A
Samuel Chukwueze finished his second Serie A season in Italy with a great performance coming off the bench.
The AC Milan winger reminded supporters and management of his worth ahead of an anticipated summer rebuild by playing both attack and defense and helping Matteo Gabbia score the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory against Monza.
Moses, Duru, and Durosinmi’s Impressions in Scandinavia and Central Europe
Even though SønderjyskE lost to Vejle 3–2, Ebube Duru was awarded man of the match in Denmark. In his last game of the season, the left-back made a strong contribution on both ends and scored an incredible goal.
Rafiu Durosinmi scored in Viktoria Plzeň’s 4-1 thumping of Jablonec in the Czech Republic, capping up his campaign with a goal dedicated to his sister.
In the meanwhile, David Moses led Slavia Prague in midfield, with four interceptions and an assist in a decisive 3-0 victory over Baník Ostrava.
Nigerian football players have once again shown their abilities in Europe’s major leagues as the 2024–2025 season draws to a close.
The performances, which range from historic achievements to potential breakthroughs, provide a great deal of hope for the forthcoming international games and transfer windows.
