Nigerian TikToker Sentenced to Prison by Kaduna Court

A Nigerian TikToker named Muhammad Kabir was found guilty and given a prison sentence by a Federal High Court in Kaduna State for mistreating and disfiguring the Naira in a social media video.
According to a statement released on Thursday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kabir was taken into custody on May 13, 2025, in the Tudun Wada region of Kaduna State.
According to the anti-graft agency, Kabir, who goes by @youngcee0066 on Instagram and TikTok, challenged the EFCC to arrest him at his known location in a viral video that showed him stepping on Naira notes, spraying them on the floor, and making inflammatory remarks in Hausa.

Justice R.M. Aikawa of the Federal High Court, Kaduna, arraigned Kabir on a one-count amended charge after his arrest.
The prosecution’s attorney, M.U. Gadaka, urged the court to convict Kabir and sentence him appropriately after he entered a guilty plea to the charge.

Justice Aikawa then gave Kabir a six-month jail sentence or a fine of ₦300,000 that he would have to pay to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

“That sometime in 2025 in Kaduna within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, you Muhammad Kabir Sa’ad (a.k.a. youngcee0066)(M) unlawfully mutilated Naira by stepping on the Naira banknotes while making a social media video and posting the same on the internet, and thereby committed an offense contrary to Section 21(3) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007 punishable under Section 21(1) of the same Act,” the charge stated.
