APC, Adeleke’s Government Clash Over Controversial Billboard Featuring Tinubu and the Governor

A contentious billboard in Iwo town that features President Bola Tinubu and Governor Adeleke has the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State and the Ademola Adeleke-led government at odds.
According to reports, the billboard with the words “Continuity of Progress” and the name of a group known as the “Osun Leaders of Thought” was put up early on Wednesday.
Both Governor Adeleke and President Tinubu are shown on the poster.

Kola Olabisi, the APC’s Director of Media and Information, responded by calling the billboard a phony political ploy.

Olabisi also criticized the billboard’s placement, saying it was intended to create a false sense of political alignment between Governor Adeleke and the president.

“This is a ridiculous example of sleazy politics gone too far.

In a statement issued on Thursday, he stated that “there could not be any acceptable reason for the sponsorship of the fraudulent billboard.”

He went on to say that the display, which he described as an act of political heresy and a nose and eye pain, is severely condemned by the APC.

The APC claims that anonymous actors planned the campaign to fabricate a connection between President Tinubu and the state administration led by the PDP.

Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokeswoman, responded by accusing the APC of having an integrity crisis and being uneasy about the governor’s increasing popularity.

By this point, the opposition is fumbling for words. Rasheed stated that the opposition is perplexed by the wave of cross-party support for Governor Adeleke.

He cited the APC’s uneasiness with the Adeleke administration’s recent accomplishments, such as a cooperation for cultural tourism at the British Museum and business ties through the Nigeria-UK Chamber of Commerce.

He accused the APC of disseminating false information and failing to face the facts of its deteriorating credibility, and cited endorsements from both federal and non-governmental organizations as signs of growing support.

Rasheed said, “Therefore, the opposition is out of control and shouting over billboards.”
