Names of Domestic Workers Allegedly Imprisoned by Patience Jonathan Since 2019 Revealed (Photo)

A revelation has emerged saying that former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, has been detaining 15 of her domestic staff in Bayelsa State’s Okaka Correctional Centre since 2019 over unverified charges of stealing.
The workers have apparently suffered behind bars without a court conviction, as their trial has been delayed repeatedly, allegedly under the direction of the prominent former First Lady.
According to reports, the workers have been detained without a competent court trial for an alleged robbery case involving Patience Jonathan’s jewels.

Sources familiar with the matter who talked with Sahara Reporters claimed that despite the years that have gone, the workers remain behind bars due to the constant postponement of their trial, which is reported to be on Jonathan’s direct instructions.
“Since 2019, former First Lady Patience Jonathan has locked up about 16 of her domestic staff in Okaka Prison for allegedly stealing her jewellery, without first allowing a competent court of law to try them and sentence them,” a source revealed.

The sources further claimed that the judge currently hearing the case has been delaying her feet, purportedly under the influence of Patience Jonathan. One source added, “Some years ago, TECH4JUSTICE was able to provide legal services for them, which they have been doing ever since. But since the present Chief Judge came on board, she has been purposely delaying the case on Patience Jonathan’s directions. She is the former First Lady’s stooge.

Twelve of the workers have been behind bars for almost six years, and SaharaReporters was able to get exclusive pictures of them. The images depict people whose rights have allegedly been violated and whose trials have been repeatedly delayed.

These employees are John Dashe, Tamunokuro Abaku, Emmanuel Aginwa, Erema Deborah, Precious Kingsley, Tamunosiki Achese, Sunday Reginald, Vivian Golden, Emeka Benson, Vincent Olabiyi, Ebuka Cosmos, and Williams Alami.

However, the story did not include pictures of three of the workers who were detained: Boma Oba, Salomi Wareboka, and Sahabi Lima.
