Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, has issued a warning to members of the State Executive Council that they will be dismissed from their positions if they do not perform their jobs effectively.
He stressed that their ongoing tenure in office will be dictated by performance, not talebearing.
During the inauguration of eight newly constructed duplexes at the Commissioners’ Quarters in Asaba on Monday, the governor issued the warning.
Oborevwori stellte klar, dass es zwar keinen allgemeinen Plan zur Auflösung gibt, wie es gemunkelt wird, aber dass nicht leistungsstarke Kommissare entlassen werden würden.
He stated, “If you are not performing, we will drop you, and that will not affect other people.
„Wenn du eine Leistung zeigst, bleibst du.“ At this moment, a couple of individuals are not delivering results. I mentioned it to one of them today at the chapel. Your performance is lacking.
“You know, many people are saying that the governor wants to disband the exco. These individuals have not even received any communication from me; this merely demonstrates that people enjoy talking excessively.
The governor emphasized the necessity for commissioners to take initiative and be visible.
He demonstrated his administration’s dedication to accountability by ensuring that each commissioner was directly responsible for the progress of their respective ministry.
Oborevwori äußerte. “We don’t see you as a commissioner. You engage in conversation, bring your memo with you, and search for the governor, as the governor will not seek you out.

“Others are looking for me; you need to infuse your ministry with energy and initiative.
“If a ministry has an issue, the commissioner should be held accountable. Any ministry that performs excellently indicates that the commissioner is performing excellently.
„Wir haben viele Projekte, die wir einweihen müssen. I doubt we will halt before this year finishes. Although we might not manage to inaugurate all of them, I trust that we will put forth our best effort.
“Our aim is to follow Mr President’s example of what he accomplished on Saturday at the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road inauguration. They expressed all the projects and made a decision to remain in one specific place to launch them.
He pledged to launch all his projects in Warri and make them visible for everyone.
