BREAKING: Ladoja Denies Withdrawing Bola Ige’s Murder Case, Calls Bisi Akande a Liar

Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the former governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, has vehemently refuted claims made by Bisi Akande, the former governor of Osun State, that former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Bola Ige was assassinated.
Ladoja told reporters at his home in Ibadan on Tuesday that Akande’s assertions were untrue and an effort to distort the case’s facts.
Recall that during an interview that was made public over the weekend, Akande implied that Ladoja might possess important information about the unsolved murder of Bola Ige on December 23, 2001.
He asserted that Ladoja had dropped the legal action his predecessor had started to look into Bola Ige’s murder.

“Chief Bola Ige was assassinated on December 23, 2001, which was 18 months before I assumed office as governor on May 29, 2003,” Ladoja said in response to the accusations.

Additionally, he denied dropping the matter, claiming that it had been pursued all the way to the Supreme Court under his presidency.

“I didn’t drop the lawsuit. No case was withdrawn by my government. Ladoja underlined that the case was even brought before the Supreme Court.

Additionally, Ladoja questioned Akande’s reliability, saying that he had a track record of disseminating lies.

“Chief Akande is elderly and lied against me. He has done this before. He is accused of lying. Baba Adebanjo even admitted to lying in his book, according to Ladoja.

He emphasized how much his assassination hurt him and how close he was to Bola Ige.

“Ige’s passing has left us all extremely devastated. We’re all worried about his killing. When Chief Bola Ige was alive, I was really close to him,” Ladoja continued.
The December 2001 shooting death of Chief Bola Ige at his home in Ibadan is still regarded as one of Nigeria’s most contentious political killings.
