Paramilitary Recruitment Halted Over Portal Issues, Resumes July 21

The recruitment site of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has been temporarily suspended.

Recruitment for paramilitary organizations, including the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), Nigeria Fire Service (NFS), Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), is the focus of the portal.

The embargo was imposed just two days after the portal for the four parastatals’ recruiting applications opened.

The CDCFIB said the suspension is a part of an endeavor to maximize the effectiveness of its system in a statement released on Wednesday by AM Jubril, secretary of the board.

He also mentioned that starting on Monday, July 21, the gateway will be accessible once more.

“This development will guarantee a smooth, transparent, and equitable recruitment process while ensuring the portal can handle the high volume of applications,” the announcement says.

“We are dedicated to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process and value the passion and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these essential agencies.”

Since the portal opened for applicants on July 14, the board has issued three service announcements.

Following user complaints over difficulty using the website, it first stated that “a new few updates is set to be added for your easy navigation, optimal performance and complete field entries.”

Social media has been used by some Nigerians to share their application-processing experiences.

“I’ve had to start over since 3:30 am since this Error 405, which keeps coming up after I enter my phone number and NIN, keeps returning me to the home page. What might be the issue? X user inquired.

Since the application was made available, a few prospective candidates have expressed dissatisfaction about their inability to use the portal.
