PDP Accuses APC of Using Security Agencies to Intimidate Members

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has come under fire from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for allegedly instructing the Nigeria Police and other security forces to harass the party and stop it from holding its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.
Prior to security personnel seizing control of the PDP headquarters and excluding the members of the Board of Directors, the meeting was reportedly planned for June 30, 2025, at the party secretariat located at Wadada Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
The PDP claimed that the APC was to blame for the mayhem at the party secretariat in a post via 𝕏.
“On orders from the All Progressives Congress, APC, Federal Police and other security agencies are harassing members of the Board of Trustees and employees of our party’s National Secretariat in an attempt to halt the scheduled meeting,” the post stated.

In other news, PDP members in Sokoto and Kebbi states have stated that they are willing to join any legitimate coalition or political alliance that aims to defeat the incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general elections of 2027.
Former Governor Aminu Tambuwal and other well-known PDP figures in Sokoto are said to have consented to combine with the recently established All Democratic Alliance (ADA), one of the 110 political parties vying for registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Punch was informed by a trustworthy source that the decision was made during a Saturday stakeholders’ meeting where arrangements to switch from the PDP to the ADA were finalized.
