“People Hate Me Because of My Father’s Wealth” – Davido Opens Up

Nigerian musician Davido has talked candidly about the harsh abuse he received in his home country because of his affluent background. If his affluent upbringing had been well-known at the time, the singer said in a recent podcast interview, it might have been a significant barrier to his success early in his musical career.
According to Davido, he had already amassed a sizable fan base and published a number of successful songs by the time the world realized how wealthy he was. According to him, this early momentum protected him from the criticism that could have cut short his goals.
Nothing, Davido insisted, could have prevented him from pursuing music in spite of the criticism. He stressed his intense love for the work and stated that he would have persisted despite difficult circumstances.

In addition, the award-winning artist considered the difficulties of celebrity, comparing his experience to a change in power. People frequently back you when you’re rising, but once you get to the top, they turn against you, he said.
Yet in spite of constant criticism, Davido has prospered in the music business, creating song after hit and retaining a devoted following.
According to Davido, “I am the most criticized artist in Nigeria.” After all, I’ve been burning for a long time. At first, they were unaware of my dad’s wealth. In my case, the shame associated with a wealthy child doing music was less extreme than it ought to have been.
“My father’s wealth was unknown. It was too late; before they discovered that my dad was wealthy, I had already recorded three successful songs.

However, all I wanted to do was perform. Whether I had to end up homeless didn’t matter to me. That’s all I wanted to do at the time. There would be nothing to stop me.
My dad is wealthy, so over time, people began to despise me. But I continue to release quality songs, and things continue to go well.
“Everyone experiences criticism after they become the best at something. Voters support you because they adore you and you are running for office. They despise you once you are elected president, though.
