NNPC Denies Viral Video, Confirms Dangote Refinery as Major Fuel Supplier in Lagos

According to a widely shared video, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has denounced false assertions that its fuel is short-lived.
According to NNPC spokesperson Olufemi Soneye, the claim was based on amateur, unverified research that lacked professional scrutiny, reliability, and accuracy, and was therefore completely untrue.
According to a statement released by NNPC on Saturday, Dangote Refinery contributed a large portion of the petroleum sold at NNPC filling stations in Lagos.

“NNPC Ltd reaffirms that its fuel is rigorously formulated with one of the best compositions, guaranteeing consumers the best possible efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability.”Additionally, it should be noted that a large portion of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold at NNPC retail stations in Lagos, the location of the filming of this misleading video, comes from the Dangote Refinery, a strategic partner in advancing local production and energy security. By following stringent industry standards, Dangote Refinery ensures that the petroleum products it supplies to its customers are of high quality.

“This deceptive movie is just one more desperate attempt by economic saboteurs to corrupt NNPC Ltd.’s reputation and mislead the public. In order to undermine our efforts and mislead Nigerians, we will not accept willful disinformation,” the statement stated.

NNPC also said that it will be pursuing legal action against anybody who spread false information about its goods in an effort to damage the company’s reputation.

Going forward, NNPC Ltd will firmly prosecute any persons or organizations that purposefully disseminate inaccurate information about our business and brand. Those involved in such malevolent actions will face full legal consequences.

“The public is urged to ignore such fake content and to only trust reliable sources when seeking factual information. “NNPC Ltd is unwavering in its commitment to guaranteeing fuel accessibility, affordability, and quality for every Nigerian while upholding international industry standards,” the statement continued.
