Political Mischief: Zulum Rejects Claims of Leaving APC

Babagana Zulum, Borno’s governor, has denied plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress.

A viral social media post stated that Zulum and five other APC governors were about to abandon the ruling party.

Zulum responded in a statement on Sunday, calling the claim “fictitious and mischievous” and claiming that it was made up by political opponents.

“This is entirely false and exists only in the imagination of its sponsors,” the statement says.

“They are detractors who have made no significant contribution to the development of Borno State or Nigeria.

“It is a classic example of cheap, politically motivated speculation designed solely to distract us and create unnecessary political tension.”

The governor stated that his “loyalty to the APC remains firm” and that he is committed to the development of Borno.

Zulum urged media outlets and the people to rely solely on trustworthy and official sources of information.

“I advise the decent people of Borno and the entire public to ignore this lie. We have no time for cheap politics; our hands are occupied with the noble mission of rebuilding and expanding our beloved country,” he stressed.

“We remain resolute in our commitment to serving Borno state under the banner of our great party, the APC.”
