Ribadu Declares Sit-at-Home Ineffective After Neutralizing Key IPOB Elements

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has claimed that key figures in the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) have been apprehended and neutralized, rendering the Monday sit-at-home order ineffective.
Ribadu stated this during a presentation on President Bola Tinubu’s security achievements at the APC national summit on Thursday.
Tinubu’s administration faced five major security crises across the country, including Boko Haram in the north-east, armed banditry in the north-west, secessionist agitations by IPOB and ESN in the south-east, Niger Delta unrest, and communal/herder-farmer conflicts in the north-central.
The NSA stated that via collaborative efforts, security services were able to contain the mass killings, kidnappings, and destruction done by criminal forces across the country.

Highlighting the accomplishments, the NSA stated that over 13,543 Boko Haram fighters have been neutralised in the last two years, with over 11,000 weapons collected and destroyed.

He stated that 124,408 Boko Haram fighters and their families have surrendered to military, and attacks on security personnel have considerably decreased since Tinubu’s administration began.

He stated, “In the southeast, a welcome development is that sit-at-home orders are becoming increasingly ineffective.”

“Key IPOB/ESN figures were apprehended or neutralised. Over fifty police stations and numerous police posts have been restored.

“Attacks on security troops were drastically decreased. Social and economic activities are becoming more commonplace.

“In the north-west, a landmark year in the struggle against banditry, 11,250 hostages were liberated, and mass abductions declined.

“Top warlords receive decisive blows…” Ali Kachalla, Boderi, Halilu Sububu, Dangote, Isuhu Yellow, Damuna, and others were dismissed.”
