‘I Was Fine Before You Took Me to CBEX’ – Taye Currency Lashes Out at Associates Over N10 Million Loss

The artist from Fuji, Taye Adebisi, better known by his stage name Taye Currency, has taken aim at people who first exposed him to the Ponzi fraud run by Crypto Bridge Exchange, or CBEX.
According to sources, Currency’s latest lamentations coincide with a growing outcry over the demise of CBEX, which duped many Nigerians who fell for its high-yield digital investment proposals.
In a social media video that went viral, Currency described his experience during a stage show and claimed that some of his close friends had told him about the scam.

The musician claimed to have lost ₦10 million to the Ponzi scam, attributing his investment to his companions’ success in it.

“On April 1, Sodiq came to my house and said that Brother Muca and Alaba had also collected their money, and that Lateef, the brand manager, had also collected some money,” he added.
Alaba invested N1.2 million in CBEX using money he stole from the stage. Brother Muca also paid his N500,000 work fee. Sodiq spent N850,000 of the money he was saving in the band. N1.4 million was invested by Lateef.

“I became inspired when Latif stated that he had utilized N200k to acquire N600k. I took out the cash I had accumulated from insurance and looked at my life openly. On April 1, I invested N10 million in CBEX, but all was lost.

“They won’t rest well if they die well because I was alone before you brought me to CBEX.”
