FG Approves Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic, Tasks Wike with Site Selection in Abuja

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has been authorized by the Federal Government.
Technology, vocational, and entrepreneurial training are anticipated to be promoted by the new university, according to reports.
According to a letter sent to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, on January 9, 2025, this is the case.
The move is in keeping with the Federal Government’s objective to guarantee that every state in the federation has one federal polytechnic, according to the letter written by Dr. Tunji Alausa, Minister of Education. On January 16, 2025, the letter arrived in the FCT minister’s office.
Wike has been asked to provide potential places for the polytechnic’s temporary and permanent locations in Gwarinpa by the minister of education. To examine and check the suggested venues, a technical team from the National Board for Technical Education and the Federal Ministry of Education will travel there.
This is what the letter says:
“I’m writing to let your Excellency know that the National Policy called for the creation of one Federal Polytechnic in each of the Federation’s states in order to support entrepreneurial, vocational, and technological training.
The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has been authorized by the Federal Government as a result.
In light of the aforementioned, your Excellency is respectfully asked to recommend potential places for the temporary and permanent sites in Gwarinpa for launch.
4. The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Technical Team will also visit the sites to examine and inspect the suggested places. The clearance will be granted based on the Team’s report.
