Former Governorship Candidate Eradiri Urges Fubara to Kneel, Beg Wike for Peace

Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, has been requested by Udengs Eradiri, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for governor in the 2023 Bayelsa State general elections, to plead with Nyesome Wike, the Federal Capital Territory’s minister, to reduce political tension in Rivers State.
Eradiri urged the governor to refrain from ethnicizing the deadlock, claiming that the situation in his state was brought on by the incapacity of the suspended Fubara.
“As for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, the source of all this negativity is his ineptitude. Ijaw shouldn’t be involved with his political problems or concerns. Allow him to explain how he has helped the Ijaws or Ijaw-related initiatives. How many Rivers State Ijaws did he empower to the point where he is now requesting Ijaw support? How many of his government’s LGA chairman, commissioners, and appointments were IYC members in the Eastern zone?

“I suggest that Fubara approach Wike, kneel down, and ask for forgiveness. Those who are misleading him lack courage. They approach the same Wike with their cap in hand, kneeling, and pleading, and once they have it, they come out to claim Ijaw lions,” he added.
Insisting that the INC brought shame to the Ijaw country, the former Bayelsa LP flag bearer criticized the INC’s handling of the Rivers dispute and cautioned the group against ethnicizing political matters.
He stated that the INC should not be courting the egos of the governors, adding that the organization is larger than them and that if they denigrate the INC in front of the inept governors, the institutions will be open to mockery and abuse.
He asserts that no one is more Ijaw than another and exhorts INC to safeguard all interests and avoid getting involved in politics.
