Senator Natasha Detained by Immigration at Abuja Airport

While attempting to board a flight to the United Kingdom on Thursday morning, suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central at the National Assembly, was momentarily held by immigration officers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
According to reports, Natasha was stopped and informed that she was not permitted to travel because the National Assembly leadership had requested that her name be added to a watch list.
A family member who verified the story told The Premium Times that Natasha was stopped by immigration officials at the departure gate while she and her husband were traveling to the UK to attend her stepson’s graduation ceremony.
According to the family source, she was informed that the National Assembly’s leadership had asked to put her on a watch list and consider her a flight risk.

“Given that she has never missed a court appearance and that there is no court order limiting her movement, we are wondering why they treated her that way.”
According to witnesses who talked to the aforementioned website, the senator called senior immigration and government officials multiple times in protest of the travel ban.
After being given the all-clear to board her British Airways aircraft, Natasha was halted at the airport almost an hour later.
“Her passport was finally stamped and she was permitted to proceed,” one witness stated.
Remember how the senator from Kogi publicly objected to the alteration in her sitting arrangement and then contested the Senate’s decision to suspend her?
Additionally, Natasha had accused Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, of sexual harassment.
Akpabio has refuted the accusation, though.
