Shehu Sani Turns Down Appointment as Judge for Miss World Nigeria Pageant

Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central, has turned down a judge’s invitation to the Miss World Nigeria Beauty Pageant, which will take place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos on April 4, 2025.
Senator Ben Bruce, the event organizer and Sani’s former colleague in the 8th National Assembly, was the first to announce the news of Sani’s appointment.
On Wednesday, Bruce announced Sani’s role on his official social media account, congratulating his pal on the esteemed position.

“Congratulations to my good friend Shehu Sani on his appointment as a judge for the Miss World Nigeria Beauty Pageant, which will be held on April 4 at the Federal Palace Hotel,” Bruce stated in his post. Please make sure you are dressed in your best clothes and arrive promptly at 6:00 PM.
Sani, however, graciously declined the invitation in his response to the announcement on Thursday on the social media site 𝕏.

Although he thanked Bruce for the honor, he gave both practical and personal justifications for his choice.

In a comical manner, Sani said, “My wives will not be happy if I serve as a judge.” “I haven’t been able to judge which of my wives is the most attractive, much less those I don’t know.”

Sani went on to say, “I don’t have the knowledge or experience in such events,” indicating that he lacked the experience and skill needed for such gatherings.

The former senator added that the gathering was scheduled during the month of Sallah, when he likes to spend time with his loved ones.

We spend time with friends and family during the Sallah season. “I appreciate the honor and wish them well,” he said in closing.

Sani apologized to Ben Bruce and the pageant’s organizers for any inconvenience his choice might have caused.

He added a kind word of goodwill for the event’s success along with an apology for any trouble his rejection may have caused.
