Sule Lamido Says No Mediation Can Resolve Kwankwaso-Ganduje Fallout

Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa State, has stated that the icy relationship between Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the political leader of Kano, and his estranged former deputy, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, will not be resolved because it is very personal.

Speaking to reporters in an interactive session at his Sharada office in Kano on various matters of national significance, Lamido claimed that ego was the driving force behind the rivalry between the Kano political gladiators.

“Kwankwaso and Ganduje are twin brothers, their fight is about ego, and until and unless they choose to lower it for the interest of Kano, the frosty relationship will continue to defy third party intervention,” stated Lamido, a prominent political figure in North-West Nigeria.

According to him, “they have been together, know each other too well, and have worked closely together for two long years, but they have been fueled the crisis with ego.”
As the complexities of the conflict are so intensely personal that no outside force can settle it, Lamido insisted that “the solution to bury the hatchet lies with the two personalities.”

The PDP mainstay cautioned stakeholders in his remarks over the mooted plan to establish more states in Nigeria.

According to the philosopher Talakawa, the desire to establish new states in Nigeria should not take precedence given the numerous issues plaguing the country’s politics.

“The parts, you know, no longer trust one another. We’re discussing the North and the South.
We are speaking of Muslim-Muslim relations. Our topic is Christians refusing. “There are a lot of issues that are tearing us apart, and they need to be addressed,” Lamido emphasized.

According to the PDP chieftain, “there is insecurity above all else.” It’s unclear to you whether you’re safe wherever you are.

Then, of course, there is the hunger and poverty,” he added. There ought to be some priorities, then. But if this security issue can somehow resolve this issue, I don’t mind.
