Sultan of Sokoto Calls on Governors to Promote Peace, Treat Everyone as Indigenes

He underlined that every Nigerian is treated as a local resident in Sokoto, which fosters a feeling of community among state residents.

In order to foster enduring peace, harmony, and unity among all Nigerians, the Sultan therefore invited other states to follow suit.

“We have members of the resident communities in Sokoto, not non-indigenous people,” he stated.
Sultan Sa’ad characterized security as the cornerstone upon which all societies may advance, emphasizing the necessity for state governors to place a high priority on safeguarding the lives and property of their subjects.

“In Sokoto, we value the Governor’s efforts and would like to reassure him that the traditional institution will assist him in carrying on his admirable work of changing our State.

The Sultan said, “The state has seen a remarkable improvement in the fight against banditry because the Governor and our security agencies are doing their best.”

Governor Aliyu responded by restating his administration’s resolve to take all practical steps to guarantee the state’s safety and security.

He said that unemployment, especially among young people, is the main cause of the growing insecurity in many parts of the nation.

To date, this administration has trained and graduated thousands of women and youth in many trades, enabling them to contribute positively to society.

In our small effort to lessen restlessness among our youth, he promised, “I want to reassure you that we would soon embark on another massive skill acquisition programs to engage more unemployed youths.”

The governor assured citizens that his administration would continue to prioritize the construction of more mosques and Islamiyya schools, reaffirming his commitment to making Islamic issues a top priority in the state.

He thanked the populace for their support of his administration and their prayers.
