On Tuesday, Nigeria’s Super Falcons showcased their quality by winning 2–0 against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in a pre-tournament friendly at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade exemplified leadership by scoring both goals in the first half, securing victory for the nine-time African champions.
The first goal was scored in the 28th minute from a penalty kick, and the second was a beautifully executed team goal finished in the 43rd minute with a slick assist from Rinsola Babajide.

As the team ramps up preparations for the 13th Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to occur in Morocco from July 5 to 26, Head Coach Justine Madugu characterized the performance as a “psychological boost” for the squad.
The Super Falcons, who have won nine WAFCON titles, are aiming for a 10th championship to extend their record.

In 1991 and 1995, Nigeria also secured the continental title while the tournament was exclusively a qualifier for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Nigeria’s triumph against Cameroon bolsters its status as one of the favorites going into the continental clash.
