Governor Sani Denies Giving Money to Bandits

Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State, has denied reports that he is hanging around with robbers.
In an interview with Prime Time, a show on Arise Television, on Thursday, Sani refuted claims that he provided financial support to bandits, stating that his government had instead constructed homes for state bandit victims.
Sani recalled how his opponents accused him of attempting to bribe bandits to address the state’s insecurity problem when he first took office as governor.

“A man who has stood for justice and the liberation of the oppressed cannot sit down with bandits,” he remarked.

The governor claimed that instead of paying robbers, he started a program two weeks ago to build homes for insurgency victims.

“I have constructed homes for the victims of banditry in Kaduna, but I have not given the bandits a single naira,” he continued.

According to Sani, for these kinds of projects to be successful, the community must be the driving force.

“You cannot support that as a governor; it needs to be a community-based effort. “It must belong to them,” he answered.

According to Sani, his administration’s inclusive attitude, which welcomes all groups, is the reason why there haven’t been any farmer-herder disputes in the state recently.

There hasn’t been a single farmer-herder conflict in Kaduna today. We use inclusivity to solve this. Everyone must be included. He claimed that President Tinubu didn’t have to travel to the north to give you advice on how to manage your state.
