JUST IN: Osun APC LG Chairmen, Councillors Take Over 14 Secretariats

About 14 local government area (LGA) secretariats in Osun State now have the chairmen and council members chosen in the October 15, 2022, local government elections back in office.
According to reports, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at around 10 a.m., the political leaders seized their respective local government secretariats.
These officials, together with several members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), returned to work in the secretariats in Boripe, Oriade, Obokun, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Ede South, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, and Ila, according to The PUNCH.
Additionally, they have returned to the secretariats of the local governments of Boripe, Iwo, Ayedire, and Ejigbo.
Jamiu Olawumi, the former Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, stated in a statement provided to press that the chairmen and council members of 14 local government secretariats started working at 10 a.m.
He added that no complaints of violence have been made as of yet.
“As of 10 am, we have 14,” Olawumi stated. They are Boripe, Oriade, Obokun, Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ede South, and Ila.
Boripe, Ayedire, Iwo, and Ejigbo. The level of security was excellent. Around the secretariat are members of the DSS, an armed civil defense unit, and the police tactical team. Governor Adeleke deserves our praise, but that is insufficient.

“They ought to remove the thugs they brought with them. They’re in town. You will see several faces that you haven’t seen here if you roam about. The Osun people should not be encouraged to be killed by those cultists and militants.
They have realized that the ruling is binding. The governor ought to try to meet with the IGP, the president, or the chief of staff. He ought to accomplish that much for us in order to realize the goal of growing Osun during his current term.
“Despite being at different levels of government, our chairmen and council members are willing to collaborate with him.”
