Nollywood Pays Tribute as Celebrated Actress Passes On

The unexpected death of actress Pat Ugwu has thrown the Nollywood industry into new sadness.
On Wednesday, renowned actor Emeka Okoye confirmed the death of the 35-year-old actress on his Instagram account.
Okoye prayed for God’s protection and long life for his other coworkers and expressed grief that he would not be able to work with Ugwu again.
Emeka tweeted, “Rest in peace, sis,” to announce her passing. @patpat_ugwu Pat Ugwu so we’re not able to return to work? Whyooo death? Please, God 😭😭😭. Peace be with you, PAT. May the Lord hold your soul in his arms. God, please keep all of my coworkers safe, especially the ones I’m close to. This strange death is awful. This 2025, I declare life in the priceless blood of Jesus to everyone who is near me. Amen.
According to her family’s burial plans, the late actress will be laid to rest on February 6 and 7, 2025.
In the meantime, Moses Korede Are, a Nigerian gospel actor who starred in the Mount Zion Abattoir series as Baba Gbenro, has been buried.

The founder and international president of Calvary Movies Drama Ministry, situated in Ogbomoso, Nigeria, Baba Gbenro, was remembered as having died in November 2024.
Well-wishers dressed in white and blue paid their final respects to the beloved celebrity around his ultimate resting place in photos of the burial ritual that were circulated online.
