N50m Nomination Form as APC Releases 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election Timetable

Key dates and procedures for candidates and party members are outlined in the official schedule of events for the 2026 Ekiti State gubernatorial election, which was released by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The timetable, which was posted on the APC’s official 𝕏 handle on Friday and signed by Sulaiman Argungu, the party’s national organizing secretary, was said to outline the schedule for the governorship election that is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Beginning on Friday, July 25, 2025, the State Chapter received the Notice of Election. Next came the Update of Membership Register, which started on July 28, 2025, and will end on Friday, August 15, 2025.

According to the APC, “only members whose names appear on the register and are up to date in paying their membership dues will be eligible to vote and be voted for…”

The governorship ticket’s nomination and expression of interest forms will go on sale on Monday, August 18, and will end on Monday, September 2, 2025. Forms must be completed and delegated by Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Congress, Primaries, and Delegates Screening
The statement states that candidates will be screened from Tuesday, September 23, to Wednesday, September 24, 2025, and that the results will be released on Friday, September 25, 2025.

Appeals of screening findings must be submitted by September 26, 2025, a Saturday.

The Delegate Congress Appeal is scheduled on Friday, October 3, 2025, after the Delegate Congress itself is scheduled for Thursday, October 2, 2025.

The primary election for the party’s governorship is set for Monday, October 27, 2025, and appeals will be heard from Wednesday, October 29, to Thursday, October 30, 2025.

The results of the gubernatorial primary election will be ratified by a congress on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in accordance with the 2022 Electoral Act.

Access codes for online form submission will be available to candidates starting on Monday, November 10, 2025, and the National Working Committee (NWC) will receive the list of nominated candidates by Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

Friday, January 16, 2026 is the deadline for completing the final list of candidates that will be posted on the INEC portal.

Official campaign activities begin on Monday, April 6, 2026, and culminate on Thursday, June 18, 2026, two days prior to the election.

The price of forms for nominations
With ₦10 million for the Expression of Interest form and ₦40 million for the Nomination Form, the APC estimated that the cost of the governorship nomination forms would be ₦50 million.

Only the Expression of Interest form needs to be paid for by female candidates and people with disabilities; the Nomination Form will be provided free of charge.

Twenty-five to forty-year-old candidates will pay for the Expression of Interest form and get fifty percent off the Nomination form.

Eligibility for the delegate form, which will cost ₦5,000, is dependent on having contributed at least ₦200 a month for at least three months before the congress.
