“Take Off the Beads and Release Him” – 2Baba’s Mother Pleads with Edo Lawmaker

Nigerians have received an emotional appeal from the mother of music legend Innocent Idibia, well known by his stage name 2face, asking Edo State politician Natasha Osawaru to distance herself from her son.
Mrs. Rose Idibia, who emotionally urged mothers across the country to step in, blamed her son’s behavior on the emotional strain of his protracted divorce from Annie Idibia in a video that went viral.
In the video, she stated, “Good evening, Nigerians.” The mother of 2face, Mrs. Rose Idibia, is my name. I am sending this mail to Edo State’s Miss Natasha Osawaru. I’m urging all Nigerian mothers to join me in pleading with her to release my kid.

“My kid is undergoing a divorce and is obviously out of his mind at the moment. My son is someone I know well. He is not like that.

“Please take off the beads you put on his neck and hand, Natasha, and release him.”

The heartfelt appeal was said to have occurred soon after a video of 2face popping the question at a private gathering went viral.

“I’ve seen false narratives spreading,” 2face said in response to the public outcry, addressing rumors on Instagram and reaffirming his support for Osawaru. Homebreakers are not Hon. Natasha. She was unrelated to my problems with Annie. I wish to wed her because I adore her.

Natasha Osawaru, who was elected by the PDP in 2023 to the Edo State House of Assembly for the Egor Constituency, has not yet replied to Mrs. Idibia’s plea.
