APC Issues VeryDarkMan One Week Ultimatum To Apologise For ‘Slanderous’ Attack On Akpabio

The All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South Zonal leadership has sent Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, a severe warning, requesting an apology within seven days for what they said was an insulting tirade against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Blessing Agbomhere, the South-South Zonal Organizing Secretary, issued a statement on Sunday in which the APC advised the social media influencer to avoid making any more assaults on the former Akwa Ibom governor and warned him to make a distinction between defamation and activism.
After VeryDarkMan’s widely shared video in which he criticized Akpabio for joining the federal government delegation to the Vatican for Pope Francis’ funeral, Agbomhere responded.

In the roughly three-minute video, the influencer called Akpabio’s trip to Rome “shameful,” contending that the Senate President ought to have been to states that have lately had violent attacks, including as Benue, Plateau, Kwara, Ogun, and Enugu.
However, the APC leader objected to the comments, saying VeryDarkMan was defaming Akpabio in the name of activism.

He said, “VeryDarkMan is gaining notoriety for slander, blackmail, and character assassination while posing as a social crusader and an advocate for the masses.” The third-ranking Nigerian citizen, who was properly appointed by the president to lead a delegation to represent Nigeria, was the target of an unjustified verbal attack. What what is the issue with that?

Agbomhere went on to defend the Senate President’s choice of Akpabio to represent Nigeria in the Vatican, emphasizing that his standing and religious beliefs made him an appropriate option.

“President Tinubu saw in Akpabio a worthy ambassador of Nigeria to such an event as the Pope’s funeral and wasted no time in thrusting that responsibility on him,” he said, describing Akpabio as a pure-hearted Catholic and family guy. Why is that incorrect?

Agbomhere emphasized the seriousness of the situation by saying, “With this statement, I am issuing VeryDarkMan a one-week ultimatum to immediately tender an unreserved apology to the Senate president for the slanderous comments and to desist from further bringing the integrity of the President Bola Tinubu led administration into disrepute in the eyes of the foreign community.”

In addition, the APC mainstay urged Nigerians to ignore what he called VeryDarkMan’s “uninformed ranting,” claiming that the government is working hard to solve the nation’s security issues, many of which were passed down from generation to generation.

Agbomhere brought attention to President Bola Tinubu’s dedication, saying, “After returning from France and the UK, Tinubu met with the security chiefs and gave them marching orders to ensure that a different approach is deployed in the fight against insecurity.” Does this individual sound like he doesn’t care about defending Nigerians’ lives and property?
“Remember, the complicated security issues in the country cannot be wished away with a wave of the hand; it takes time to achieve a semblance of peace, and that is a commitment that the Tinubu-led administration made to Nigerians while assuming office and is still committed to achieving,” he said in closing, prompting citizens to remember that resolving Nigeria’s complex security issues will require patience and sustained effort.
